By adding extracurricular courses to the mix, our students have many opportunities to pursue personal interests and discover hidden talents.

Chess
Our FWA Chess Team competes on local, regional and national levels, most recently competing successfully in the National K-12 Chess Championships. FWA Chess is affiliated with the United States Chess Federation.

Potpourri
Several afternoons each week, the art room is devoted to all things beginning with "P'; painting, papermaking, pottery, printmaking and paper marbleizing! The class is open to students of all ages.

Hebrew
Through a partnership with Grow Fort Worth, FWA offers Hebrew as a foreign language to interested students. Hebrew classes take place before school and during the middle school elective period.

Drama Club
FWA students in grades 7-8 may choose to continue studying theatre art as a member of the Drama Club. Past productions have included ”You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown“, ”A Midsummer Night’s Dream“, ”Fiddler on the Roof“, ”Seussical“, ”Pirates of Penzance“, ”School House Rock“, ”Guys and Dolls“ and ”Annie.“.

Band
Since 2001, the FWA band has performed at pep rallies, special events, and the annual band concert to the delight of everyone in attendance.

Guitar
All interested students are encouraged to take advantage of guitar lessons offered after school.
