From kindergarten through the eighth grade, the course of study at Fort Worth Academy is based in the classical liberal arts tradition blending leading-edge educational practices with exposure to a wide range of subjects. Academic standards are high, encouraging students to maintain a personal commitment to learning.
Integrating local, regional and international community offerings into the curriculum provide numerous opportunities for our students to learn beyond the boundaries of the classroom and take an active role in their own education.
On-campus and Locally
On-campus, hands-on projects, laboratory experiments, special guests and speakers provide opportunities for learning that are personalized and fun. In the local Fort Worth community, students enjoy taking field trips to area museums, concert halls, historic sites and exhibitions to support the curriculum in a variety of subjects.
Regionally and Nationally
Middle School students have the opportunity to travel regionally and nationally to enhance learning in history, social studies, entrepreneurship, math and science. Firsthand experience in our nation’s capital, historic sites in San Antonio and Corpus Christi, and an opportunity to explore entrepreneurship at the Free Enterprise Institute in Waco keep students motivated to learn.
Internationally
International peer-to-peer learning is incorporated into lower and middle school social studies, math, science, and language curriculum. Connections with classes in Dubai, Mumbai, Peru, Canada, Japan, Scotland and the Kingdom of Bahrain bring learning to life. Even our kindergarteners enjoy interacting with teachers in Thailand. Students are expected to begin mastering essential skills and continue expanding their knowledge base through the eighth grade. By adding academic enrichment classes, artistic offerings, and off-campus experiences to the mix, students have many opportunities to pursue special interests and discover hidden talents.
