Developing independence, identity and recognition of self during the Middle School years brings both great change and great opportunity for intellectual growth. At Fort Worth Academy, we understand the nature of adolescence and provide opportunities for each student to succeed with adult support during this time. Cooperative learning experiences, hands-on activities, lectures, individual projects, and a strong Advisory Program empower students to be critical and abstract thinkers while working productively in the community.
A balanced academic program including English, mathematics, science, history and Spanish develop intellectual skills. In addition to the core subjects, classes in visual arts, performing arts, physical education, and an array of elective classes complete the curriculum offerings. Our students are always encouraged to involve themselves in activities beyond the classroom as well, playing competitive sports, taking part in musical and other dramatic productions, participating in support clubs, student government, and other extracurricular activities offered at FWA.
