Q: What does Fort Worth Academy look for in a student?

A: The Admission Committee considers several factors when assessing each student's application:

  • Proven and potential academic success
  • Ability to benefit from and contribute to the FWA community
  • Enthusiasm and a motivation to succeed
  • Personal promise
  • Parental support and belief in the Fort Worth Academy mission

Q: How does the admissions process work?

A: The admissions process at FWA is personalized to evaluate each applicant as an individual. The following are required for admission to the school:

  • Admission testing
  • Transcript and current report card
  • Classroom teacher recommendation(s)
  • Classroom visit and informal interview
  • Application and fee

Q: Does Fort Worth Academy offer financial assistance or merit scholarships?

A: FWA offers need-based financial aid to qualified students according to the guidelines from School and Student Service For Financial Aid. FWA does not offer merit scholarships.

Q: Where do Fort Worth Academy graduates attend high school?

A: FWA graduates are well-prepared to attend competitive, college-preparatory private and public schools. For the past ten years, 95 percent of FWA graduates attend the high school of first-choice.

A: Deadlines can vary based on the following criteria:

 

  • Kindergarten siblings/alumni: Nov. 15, 2011
  • General Kindergarten: Feb. 1, 2012
  • Grades 5-8: ISEE Registration deadline March 2, 2012
  • Grades 1-8: March 22, 2012

A: Individual kindergarten screening is administered in January and February.
