Physical Education in Kindergarten and Lower School
The athletic program, including physical education and competitive sports, is vital to the total education of a Fort Worth Academy student. All students attend physical education classes five days a week. We emphasize skills, fitness, participation, teamwork, and competition.

Kindergarten through fourth grade students participate in a variety of age-appropriate activities and competitive games building levels of skills and gaining self-confidence. Our goal is to involve students in experiences that help them develop strong, healthy bodies and positive self-images.

Competitive Athletics in Middle School
In grades five through eight, our experienced coaches expand the physical education program to include individual and life sports as well as team sports. We encourage broad participation in competitive athletics often supporting as many as seven basketball teams during a season. The sports program is of equal opportunity for all students and an extension of the school day. While healthy competition is important, we believe that participation and teamwork are as valuable as the pursuit of individual excellence.

Fort Worth Academy fields teams in baseball, basketball, football, soccer, golf, track and field, softball, and volleyball. Our athletic facilities are designed to meet the needs of all students and serve as the sites for several tournaments throughout the year. Basketball and volleyball tournaments are held in our gymnasium. Talbott Fields includes a regulation baseball/softball diamond and a regulation football/soccer field and field house complete the facilities.

Championship interscholastic play, physical fitness, and non-competitive sports emphasize skill development, teamwork, and personal challenge enriching the educational experience for each student.
