The Fort Worth Academy community celebrates diversity as an invaluable and integral aspect of the learning experience, indeed of the human experience. Our collective individual differences broaden our perspective, shape our character and feed our compassion. At Fort Worth Academy, our diversity makes us strong.
At Fort Worth Academy, we believe:
• Every person is unique and valuable.
• Understanding and respecting differences in race, religion, culture, creed, gender, age, family
structure, physical ability, learning style, sexual orientation and socioeconomic condition are
essential.
• Achieving, developing and maintaining diversity is an ongoing and evolving process – not an
end, but a means to an end.
• Recognizing and embracing the benefits of diversity is important and worth pursuing.
At Fort Worth Academy, we:
• Prepare students to excel in an increasingly multicultural society by learning about other people,
places and cultures in ways that are innovative and enlightening.
• Model the values of tolerance, respect, empathy and dignity.
• Recruit outstanding speakers and sponsor school events that relate to multiculturalism and
diversity.
• Support the National S.E.E.D. Project (Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity) and
encourage participation by all members of the school community.
• Demonstrate commitment to diversity through support for an active Diversity and
Equity Committee, established and maintained by the Board of Trustees and comprised of
board members, parents, faculty, staff, administration and Head of School.
