Dr. Jennifer Rand
serves as the Academy’s Admission Associate. She earned her BS in Criminal Justice from Tarleton State University and her M.Ed and Ph.D. in Special Education from Texas Woman's University. Dr. Rand joined the Academy in the spring of 2015 being a stay at home mom to her son, a current Academy student, and serving as a teacher for students with special needs, as an Educational Diagnostician in a public school setting.
Dr. Rand has seen the Academy through a variety of viewpoints, first as a prospective parent, then parent, parent ambassador, new family ambassador, Board of Trustee member and Admission Associate. Throughout all of those experiences one thing has remained constant, the Academy’s profound commitments to its students and its incredible outcomes.
From the first moment she stepped on the Academy campus she felt a sense of community, a sense of family. The small class sizes offered the teachers an opportunity to truly individualize their time for each student and engage them on many levels. She saw different grade levels collaborating, and students who were able to work at their level no matter their grade. FWA was the only campus that she visited with a 1:1 laptop program and a tangible program for preparing their students for the future. She also loved the way that the Academy encouraged out of the box thinking and creativity! It is for these reasons she continues to serve the Academy in any way possible
During her off time Dr. Rand enjoys reading, watching movies but most of all spending time with her husband and son.
Dr. Rand’s educational philosophy is the proverb:
“Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”
